'Charming Beijing' TV Series Airs on National Televisions in Pakistan and Brunei

Recently, the "Charming Beijing" TV series, produced by Pakistan Television Corporation (PTV) and Radio Television Brunei (RTB), aired in the two countries respectively. The program produced by PTV, with a duration of about 60 minutes, was broadcast in two episodes during prime time on PTV HOME and simultaneously released on its official website and new media platforms. The program produced by RTB premiered and was rebroadcast on the Sukmaindera channel, with clips also released on its official new media platforms.

This year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan and the 35th anniversary of China-Brunei diplomatic ties. In mid-September, production teams from the two countries were invited to participate in the overseas promotion initiative of the "Charming Beijing" TV series. They traveled to Beijing for on-site filming and interviews, visiting more than 20 locations, including heritage sites along the Beijing Central Axis, the Beijing Planning Exhibition Hall, Beijing Radio and Television Station, Shougang Park, Beijing World of Robots, and the Beijing (Tongzhou) Grand Canal Cultural Tourism Scenic Area, capturing with their lenses the newest, most beautiful and best of Beijing. The production teams overlooked the southern section of the Central Axis from the Arrow Tower of Zhengyangmen, recorded the urban rhythm of "morning bell and evening drum" at the Drum Tower, visited century-old time-honored shops such as Tongrentang, Zhang Yiyuan and Neiliansheng, experienced the unique charm of Peking Opera in courtyard homes, and talked with residents at the Mei Hou Si Shi Jingshan Civic Cultural Center. In Beijing's E-Town, they rode in unmanned minibuses and visited the world's first embodied intelligent robot 4S store. Their cameras also captured Sanlitun and Solana, fashionable commercial areas, the transformation of Shougang Park's industrial heritage into a new urban landmark, and the thousand-year-old Grand Canal becoming a waterfront leisure destination for residents. A PTV host said, "When I set foot on this land, every step became a surprise." A member of the Brunei production team said that Beijing perfectly demonstrates the integration of history and modern life.

The overseas promotion project of the "Charming Beijing" TV series is a brand activity for cultural exchange between China and foreign countries hosted by the Information Office of the People's Government of Beijing Municipality. Since its launch in 2019, it has invited production teams from 17 countries to film in Beijing. The "Charming Beijing" TV series produced has aired on mainstream television stations in more than ten countries, showcasing Beijing's urban appeal and vibrant development to the world.
