With an area of over 4 million sqm, the Shimao site is currently the largest prehistoric city site discovered in China. The site contains city defense facilities, fortifications, large cemeteries, and handicraft workshops, with a large number of precious cultural relics unearthed such as jade artifacts, pottery, bone tools, stone carvings, and painted murals, reflecting the production and lifestyle of people 4,000 years ago.

Inside the Shimao Museum, exquisite jade artifacts, unique pottery, animal skulls, and other cultural relics catch the eye. Listening to the vivid explanations from the guides, foreign experts saw the extraordinary wisdom and talent of the Shimao people in areas such as architectural skills, artistic creations, religious beliefs, and social organization through these precious historical remains.

"It's truly incredible and unimaginable that over 4,000 years ago, such a large city existed on the Loess Plateau, and the unearthed artifacts such as stone tools and pottery are so exquisite," said Su Jinxuan, an expert from France at the China Media Group.
