In recent years, Jilin Province has played an important role in the consensus reached between Chinese and German leaders, supporting joint projects of significance and working hard to upgrade its automotive industry cluster, with the result that more than 50 German-funded enterprises have chosen to invest in the province, making Germany its second-largest source of investment and Jilin's largest trading partner.

Minister at the Embassy of Germany in China Stefan Grohé spoke of the dedication of German automobile enterprises to actively pursuing development opportunities in China in view of the strong growth in its automotive industry and the favorable business environment there, particularly in Changchun, Jilin Province. He also drew attention to the fact that one out of every three new cars sold in September was an electric vehicle.

Cooperation between China and Germany has contributed greatly to the automotive industry's rapid development in Changchun and the high quality of that development. At the 2023 China-Germany Automobile Conference (Changchun) Automotive Industry Investment Promotion Session held on October 17, a total of 21 automotive industry projects were signed, amounting to an investment of CNY 25.019 billion, further strengthening the already admirable industrial cooperation.
