State Grid Jiangsu Employee Shines at COP29 Women’s Side Event

From November 11 to November 22, the 29th Conference of the Parties (COP29) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) was held in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan. At the thematic side event “The Power of Women in Sustainable Development,” He Guanghua, a national labor model and director of the Cable Operation and Inspection Center at State Grid Wuxi Power Supply Company, was invited to deliver a video address.

The side event was co-hosted by the Publicity and Education Center of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment and the All-China Environment Federation. Representatives from over 20 organizations participated, engaging in in-depth discussions on the vital role of women in climate action and sharing practical experiences of female leadership in addressing climate change.

Since 2021, State Grid Wuxi Power Supply Company has implemented the “Carnation Service Plan”, offering comprehensive support for female employees in areas such as work, life, and personal development. The company has also established a service platform for women employees, consistently providing skills training, fostering female labor models, technical leaders, and new workforce entrants, creating a strong example-setting effect.
