A sudden cold wave has swept through Jinhua, Zhejiang, bringing a precipitous temperature drop and plunging the city into "deep-freeze" mode, with winter electricity demand rising sharply as a result. To ensure a safe and stable power supply for residents, State Grid Jinhua Power Supply Company responded swiftly on November 24, dispatching staff who took on the role of "TCM doctors for electricity". Using a work approach inspired by the traditional "observation, listening, inquiry and pulse-taking" diagnostic methods, they carried out targeted inspections among key users with major load fluctuations—including households, schools, and medical institutions—to reinforce the city's winter power supply.
Inside dedicated transformer and distribution rooms, staff began with "observation", conducting comprehensive, no-blind-spot inspections for potential hazards. They checked ventilation, drainage systems, and the safety conditions surrounding each piece of equipment. Using infrared thermometers, they performed precise temperature checks on core equipment such as transformers and distribution cabinets, assessing load levels through temperature readings and pinpointing potential fault locations.

"Listening" technology also played a key role in detecting hidden risks. With partial discharge detectors and professional headsets, workers listened carefully along cabinet seams for abnormal operational sounds, accurately identifying issues such as insulation aging or poor component contact—ensuring that no hidden "ailment" escaped detection.

In the course of inspections, staff took the initiative to engage in face-to-face communication with users, practicing "inquiry" to understand public needs. They collected various electricity-related demands in one go, with a focus on core requirements such as the stability of power supply for heating equipment in primary and secondary schools and the guarantee of electricity for emergency surgeries in medical institutions. Simultaneously, they promoted safety knowledge among users, including cold and frost prevention for winter electricity use and overload protection, thus effectively enhancing users' awareness of safe electricity consumption.

Combining inspection results with user needs, the team conducted personalized "pulse-taking" for each user and issued tailored winter electricity "health prescriptions". Additionally, the company optimized the frequency of inspections in key grids, stockpiled sufficient emergency supplies, and maintained a 24/7 round-the-clock response mechanism to ensure uninterrupted power grid operation and uncompromised power supply services.

Looking ahead, State Grid Jinhua Power Supply Company will continue providing comprehensive, high-quality services with professionalism and dedication—ensuring that every kilowatt of electricity carries warmth and safeguarding the winter comfort of thousands of households.
