In October, under the clear night sky of Saudi Arabia, moonlight bathed the camp of China Harbour's Riyadh Sedra Phase II project like flowing water. On October 6, a warm and heartfelt Mid-Autumn Festival tea party was held, bringing together Chinese and international employees working far from home on the front lines of construction to share laughter and celebrate the spirit of reunion.

Chinese and International Employees Gather to Celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival

The event began with a cultural sharing session on the Mid-Autumn Festival, immersing everyone in a rich festive atmosphere. "Why is the Mid-Autumn moon particularly round? What blessings are hidden inside mooncakes?" With these engaging questions, staff recounted the romantic legend of Chang'e flying to the moon and explained the poetic sentiment of "sharing the same moonlight across a thousand miles," conveying the festival's themes of reunion, longing, and cultural significance. International employees listened attentively, nodding and exchanging thoughts, seemed to grasp the deep emotions behind this traditional Chinese festival.

"Although my hometown doesn't celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival, I felt the same warmth tonight. It seems the moon is a symbol of reunion everywhere," said Jasim, an employee from India, visibly moved as he held a freshly served mooncake.

At the tea party, the food on the tables became a bridge connecting Chinese and international cultures. A variety of mooncakes, including red bean, lotus seed, and mixed nut fillings, were complemented by local Saudi fruits like dates and mangoes. Employees from different countries sat together, enjoying the food while chatting. Some shared Mid-Autumn customs from different parts of China, while others introduced the features of traditional Saudi festivals. In relaxed conversations, participants explored the similarities and differences between their cultures.

A single mooncake became a messenger of culture. As one employee remarked, "We come from different countries, yet we gaze at the same moon; we speak different languages, yet we share the same longings and hopes."
