長桌宴是武陵山少數民族宴席的最高形式與隆重禮儀，已有幾千年的歷史。村民們喜歡聚在一起吃飯喝酒，一個村落就是一個大家庭，所有的節日都要一起過。左邊是主人座位，右邊是客人座位，主客相對，敬酒勸飲並對酒高歌。哪家有結婚、生孩子的喜事，親朋好友就會自發地搬出自家的桌子和板凳一起慶祝。流水席長達上百米，這就是“百米長桌宴”。賓客們喝完酒後要將碗摔碎，這是武陵山各少數民族粗狂豪放的傳統民俗，也取“歲歲平安”之意。
今晚，兩河口村老街上就按照傳統習俗佈置了一桌長桌宴。

Long-table banquet is the top grand ceremony and etiquette of the minorities in Mount Wuling, which has a history of thousands of years. Villagers like to get together eating and drinking just as a big family to celebrate all festivals. The left is the seat of the host and the right is for the guests. They face each other and propose a toast by singing. When a family has a wedding or a baby, relatives and friends will spontaneously take out their own tables and benches to celebrate through a 100-meter long banquet. The bowls will be broken after drinking which is the traditional uninhibited custom of the minority groups in Mount Wuling, also taking the meaning of "peace all year round". 
Tonight on the old street of Lianghekou village, we arranged a long-table banquet according to the traditional custom.

From today to November 21, the exhibition–"Lianghekou: A Tujia Village of Re-Living-Together" will be held for half a year at Palazzo Zen in Venice, to show and promote the architecture and folk culture of Tujia villages to the international community, and comprehensively develop and revitalize the vigor of traditional Tujia villages. A traditional Tujia folk dance called "Eight Bronze Bell Dance" is popular in Enshi. This dance is performed by the Tujia people when they offer sacrifices to their ancestors and pray for good harvests and prosperity of people and animals. Next, please enjoy the Eight Bronze Bell Dance by

There is another kind of performance in Xuan'en County, which is a provincial intangible cultural heritage with the name of "Flow-Dragon-Like Bamboo Pole Striking". 近年來，兩河口老街迎來了發展鄉村旅遊經濟、吸引村民返鄉創業、重振商業服務功能的良機。村民代表劉烈武登臺為觀眾們講述他心裏的老街。

In recent years, the old street of Lianghekou had a chance to develop rural tourism economy and draw local people come back to village and put the economy back on its feet by starting business. The villager representative Liu Liewu tells stories of the old street of Lianghekou in their hearts.

宣恩縣人民政府縣長習覃致辭，她表示，本次展覽，既是建築文化之間的交流互鑒，更是以人民為中心發展思想的深刻實踐，對於我們不斷滿足當地群眾對美好生活的需求，推動“文、旅、學、研”産業融合，促進縣域、鄉村高品質發展具有重要意義。

Address by Xi Qin, County Mayor of the People's Government of Xuan'en County says this exhibition is not only an exchange of architectural culture but also a practice of people-centered philosophy. It is significant for our goals to meet locals’needs for a better life, to promote the integration of culture,tourism,education and research,and to facilitate high-quality development at county and rural levels.

重慶大學建築城規學院副院長、教授褚冬竹在致辭中表示：“今天是個非常特別的日子，它標誌著宣恩縣兩河口村在第十七屆威尼斯國際建築雙年展亮相。‘兩河口’在中文裏的字面意思就是兩條河的交匯處。所以這個名字不僅體現了本地的方言，也同樣與人居環境和地貌特徵緊密相連。”

Chu Dongzhu, Deputy Dean of the School of Architecture and Urban Planning, Chongqing University says: "Today is a very special day. It marks the start of the presentation of Lianghekou village in Xuan'en County in 2021 Venice Biennale. In Chinese, Lianghekou literally means the place where two rivers conjoin. Not only does this place name help us gain a better understanding of the countryside and the vernacular，it also closely connects the dwelling with the natural and geographic characteristics.”

2018年，“活化——以中國土家泛博物館為例”項目在意大利第十六屆威尼斯建築雙年展上成功展出後，威尼斯建築大學、東南大學、華中科技大學和重慶大學四所大學共同為兩河口的活化進行了一系列的研究和方案規劃，歷時兩年多的努力，才有了今天的成果。

As early as La Biennale di Venezia 2018, Palazzo Zen in Venice presented the project "Regeneration – A Case Study of China Tujia Pan-Museum". Four universities - IUAV University of Venice, Southeast University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and Chongqing University - jointly conducted a series of studies and plans for the regeneration of Lianghekou. It took more than two years of hard work to produce today's results.

近年來，我國實施了一系列鄉村振興項目，其中坐落于湖北省宣恩縣酉水河畔、武陵山脈沿線的彭家寨引人注目。為了振興彭家寨，宣恩縣人民政府委託華中科技大學建築與城市規劃學院的院長李保峰教授，負責彭家寨泛博物館項目的規劃和建築設計，同時項目也得到了建築與城市規劃學院的支持和學院師生的積極參與。李保峰教授專門錄製了一段VCR。

In recent years, China carried out a number of rural revitalization projects designed to support the economic and social development of remote villages and towns and improve the local's living conditions. Among those projects, the most high-profile one was Pengjiazhai along the ridges of Mount Wuling and on the west bank of Longtan River in Xuan'en County, Hubei. To revitalize Pengjiazhai, the People's Government of Xuan'en County commissioned Professor Li Baofeng at the School of Architecture and Urban Planning, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, for the planning and architectural design of a pan-museum in Pengjiazhai. The project and relevant activities could not be done without the support from the school and the engagement of its teachers and students. Professor Li recorded a VCR for us. Here is his message.

他表示：“我們學校在武漢。近30年來我去過不止30次歐洲，每次認識新朋友總被問：武漢在哪？現在全世界都知道武漢了，我們是成功抵抗了新冠肺炎疫情的城市，去年我們經歷了2個多月相對分離的生活，現在我們能夠相聚了，這正好呼應了‘會聚之地的再生’主題。”

"Our school is in Wuhan. I have been to Europe for more than 30 times in the past 30 years, but every time when I met new friends, I was always asked: Where is Wuhan. Now the whole world knows Wuhan. We are the city that successfully resisted COVID19. Last year, we experienced over two months of staying at home individually, and now we can live together with each other. It also echoes the theme of the 17th International Architectural Exhibition of the Venice Biennale," says Professor Li.

Aldo Aymonino, Professor and Head of Department of Architecture and Arts at the Università IUAV di Venezia and the curator of the Italian side, makes address.

策展人張彤致辭。他説道：“近期，在鄉村旅遊的大力發展中，我們看到了實現鄉村振興的機會，但是如何在可預見的大規模旅遊熱潮來臨時，保留當地傳統文化價值，避免對文化遺産進行膚淺消費，以及重振古鎮等問題，需要包括兩河口村和威尼斯在內的所有文化遺産共同面對。”

Professor Zhang Tong, curator of the exhibition, delivers a speech and says that the recent development of rural tourism provides the chance of rural revitalization. Then the question comes, how to avoid superficial consumption and conserve the authentic values and identities of the local legacies in the predictable mass boom of tourism, so as to regenerate the declined ancient village? That is not only a question here at Lainghekou, but also the challenge faced by all cultural heritages including Lainghekou Village and Venice.

馬裡諾·福林（Marino Folin）在致辭中表示，振興兩河口的項目是李保峰教授為保護、更新和發展兩河口所在的河谷而制定的更全面的區域性規劃的一部分。規劃的主要目標是：保護文化、建築和景觀遺産；加強傳統的農業和手工藝活動；促進本地可持續的和有意識的旅遊産業發展。

Marino Folin states that the projects of revitalization of Lianghekou are part of a more general Territorial Plan, drawn up by prof. Li Baofeng, for the preservation, regeneration and development of the valley where Lianghekou is located. Main goals of the Territorial Plan are: the protection of cultural, architectural and landscape heritage, the enhancement of traditional agricultural and craft activities, the promotion of a sustainable and conscious local tourism.

The Venice Biennale boasts a history of over 130 years since its launch in the late 19th century. It is regarded as one of the world's three greatest art exhibitions and the one with the longest history and known by most. (The other two are the Kassel Documenta and the São Paulo Art Biennial.) Besides, it is the most influential culture, art, and architecture event around the globe. It has set the standard for other biennials and improved the world biennial exhibition system. In this sense, the Venice Biennale is not only the trend setter of international art exhibitions but also the international indicator of contemporary art.

This ceremony sets two venues: Palazzo Zen in Cannaregio, Venice, Italy, and Lianghekou of China Tujia Pan-Museum in Pengjiazhai, Xuan'en County, Hubei, China. Following the appearance of the project "Regeneration–A Case Study of China Tujia Pan-Museum" on the La Biennale di Venezia 2018, a new project named "Lianghekou: A Tujia Village of Re-Living-Together" will be exhibited on the 2021 17th International Architecture Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia. This project is among fifteen official parallel exhibitions, aiming to show its international demonstration significance to the world.
