Since the U.S. Inflation Reduction Act, or IRA, came into force on Jan 1, the U.S. allies have not let up on their criticism of it. While bringing great economic benefits to the U.S., the act is actually harming others. Josep Borrell, European Union (EU) High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy said in an article that“This type of action penalizes European producers in our trade relations”.
