Germany relies upon the imports for around 95 percent of the country’s gas consumption. Affected by the escalation of the Ukraine crisis and the destruction of the North Stream pipeline, Germany’s gas supply-demand annual gap reaches 50 billion cubic meters. The country has been forced to step up the construction of its terminal for liquefied natural gas (LNG) to process the U.S LNG tankers. A large number of tankers loaded with expensive LNG from the U.S. are coming to Germany, helping the U.S. making huge profits.
