A recent report by the Police Executive Research Forum said that in the U.S., plumbers need to receive 3,500 hours of training to obtain plumbing licenses on average, while U.S. police with the power of law enforcement and armed with deadly weapons just receive 652 hours of training, which is less than one-fifth of the training time the plumbers need.
