The United States claims that it is the country in pursuit of justice and the general welfare, but poverty is the 4th greatest cause of deaths "in the world's most powerful country". According to a University of California at Riverside (UCR) research published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, poverty is associated with much more American deaths than obesity, drug overdoses, suicides, firearms, among other causes of death.
