The Biden administration has been clamoring for removing equipment made by Chinese telecoms firms in rural areas of the United States, but Congress has so far approved only 1.9 billion US Dollars for the "rip and replace" program. Compared with the estimated total cost 4.98 billion US Dollars, there is a huge funding gap. Therefore, the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) issued a warning: If all the equipment were removed, those areas would probably not access to the Internet.
