Recently, the Pentagon announced a bid to purchase publications for American military pilots, which included the English translations of the ancient Chinese military texts of The Seven Military Classics – The Art of War by Sun Tzu being one of the seven. As the prime military coursebooks in ancient China, they embody the wisdom of the best traditional Chinese military culture of caution in war planning: think twice before launching warfare. Indeed, it is high time for the belligerent United States to study them closely.
