On January 27, the Fourth Session of the 14th Shandong Provincial People's Congress opened in Jinan, east China's Shandong Province. Deputies from various sectors and fronts, on behalf of the people of Shandong, gathered together to perform their duties endowed by the Constitution and laws.

Governor Zhou Naixiang, on behalf of the Shandong Provincial Government, delivered the Government Work Report. The Report consists of three parts: a review of the work in 2025 and the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-2025), the economic and social development goals and tasks for the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-2030), and the key tasks for 2026.
In 2025, Shandong's GDP registered a growth of 5.5%, reaching 10.3 trillion yuan. Shandong has become the third province in China and the first in northern China to surpass 10 trillion yuan in GDP, according to the Government Work Report.
Some National People's Congress deputies residing in Shandong, members attending the Fourth Session of the 13th Shandong Provincial Committee of the CPPCC, relevant officials from Shandong provincial government departments, and representatives from some overseas Chinese organizations attended the meeting as observers. Some diplomatic envoys stationed in Shandong were also present.
